In 1903 the Wanganui River Trust (River maintainers) had a map made by John T. Stewart, the first chairman of the trust from 1891 to 1898. The map below is a facsimile printed by the Friends of the Whanganui River in 1995. The route the riverboats took has been divided in two. Click the buttons below to view them.

The Different Hatrick Vessel Liveries
The Hatrick vessels had two differing liveries in which they were painted. Both liveries had  varnished woodwork superstructure, but most were later painted white.
1. A dark green hull with a red waterline, the side paddle steamer having a yellow stripe.
2. A white hull with a black waterline, this livery was first seen in 1904.

Vessels - Ongarue, Otunui, Waireka, Aorere, & Wai-iti (1st & 2nd)
Motor Canoes - Wakanui, Moa & Parinui
Canoes - Huia, Kiwi & Weka

2. Middle Run - The Houseboat to Pipiriki (3 vessels)
Vessels - Wairua, Waiora & Wakapai

3. Bottom Run - Pipiriki to Wanganui (5 vessels)
Vessels - Wairere, Manuwai, Ohura, Waimarie & Waione (Later Wakapai moved to bottom)
