P.S. Waimarie had her scheduled Maritime safety survey and repaint at Q-West Boatbuilders in the Whanganui River's Estuary in early August 2002. Her smokestack (replaced with a shorter one) and the wheelhouse cover had to be removed so it can pass under the Cobham and City Bridge's. Her hull was surveyed then sandblasted and repainted before making the journey back to her wharf. Click HERE to view the Waimarie's info page.
